Monitor occupancy with our new feature

Starting today, all Minut customers have access to Crowd detect, our new feature that helps hosts prevent overcrowding. By adding occupancy monitoring to our already comprehensive feature set, Minut is taking property monitoring to a whole new level.

Crowd detect is the latest in our continued efforts to make short term rental work for guests, hosts and neighbors alike. Overcrowding can have a negative impact on both the home and community at large. Not only can it signal a party kicking off, but it also increases the wear and tear and can violate community rules - that’s why keeping an eye on occupancy is so important.

Crowd detect counts the number of mobile devices in the property and will alert you when it exceeds the threshold for the home, indicating that a large gathering might be assembling.

This feature is available on both mobile and web apps. To enable it in your property, simply choose that home in your Homes list and tap on “Crowd detect.” You will then be prompted to enter the maximum guest capacity. We will use that number to calculate the mobile device threshold specific to your home.

Once Crowd detect is on, you'll be able to see the number of devices detected in the Minut mobile app at all times. Minut will notify you if this number rises above your threshold, so that you can check on your property instantly and make sure it's not overcrowded.

In combination with our noise and motion monitoring features, occupancy makes Minut the most reliable and smartest property protection solution on the market.

Crowd detect is a new feature that will continue to develop, so you can expect it to get better over time. Read more about Crowd detect here. If you have any questions, let us know at hello@minut.com or contact Sales.
