With several properties in the Cairngorms National Park, igloo knew that to run operations smoothly, it needed to comply with local environmental regulations at all times and ensure that guests were not disturbing neighbors and the wider community. To do it, the team needed to minimize unwanted noise events both indoors and out, as several of its listings had external hot tubs. They were looking for a solution to quickly de-escalate noise-related issues and avoid complaints that could potentially jeopardize their operations. Thanks to Minut’s noise events log, igloo could easily review past noise occurrences and verify whether disruptive noise came from one of their properties. As operations ramped up, being able to manage indoor climate effectively was a key challenge for igloo, especially during the winter. The team needed to minimize mold-related risks to avoid damage to the properties and reduce the overuse of heating between stays to keep their listings energy-efficient. Because they knew they had to act quickly to protect the guest experience and ward off climate-related damage, they wanted a solution to alert them instantly of any emerging issues to keep their portfolio safe.
"The extra protection Minut's temperature and humidity feature offers, especially in winter, is a really great feature that helps us keep our properties out of trouble if there is a power or heating failure. We were able to see evidence of a flash flood through a humidity sensor. Another great feature is being alerted to an alarm in a property. Thanks to Minut’s real-time alerts, igloo could turn off the heating as soon as a guest had checked out and turn it back on again as the next guest checked in. This helped their operations remain energy-efficient. Integrating the two allowed igloo to reach guests with automated and customizable messages in case of a disturbance, removing the time-consuming need to contact them manually. It also helped streamline the check-in and check-out process with automated communications. The team additionally used Minut’s motion detection to optimize the cleaning process. Minut alerted the team as soon as a guest checked out, allowing housekeeping to step in as early as possible to leave the house spotless for the next guests.

It plans to explore Minut’s cigarette smoke detection feature to complement outdoor noise monitoring and keep its listings disturbance-free.
